Meeting Notes

TAA Meeting - May 19, 2009

Bob Stephenson opened the meeting and asked for a report on the show.  Joanne White gave a short report.  TAA came out almost even on the show ( she didn"t have the figures as yet).

Dick Whitson announced there is a great show on birds at the Museum of Art.
Steve Krauss said the Bennett Gallery had an exhibit of art work done by children who have been working with sponsors.

Bob thanked everyone who helped with the show.  He announced that Stephanie Brichetto would do the Newsletter due to Linda McCann being unable to do it anymore.  Our next meeting will be held at The Market Place between the Orange Curl and where we had the show.

The program was seven new members showing some of their art work and letting the members know more about their backgrounds.
1.  Tess Gray showed an acrylic painting of children on a beach.  She has always been interested in art.

2.  Lil and John Clinard have painted since they were small children.  They work from photos taked on trips.  John's mother encouraged him to take photos and classes.  He uses a palette knife or squeezes the paint out.

3.  Janet Weaver has worked with acrylics but enjoys working in oils the most now.

4.  Jeanne Piatt started painting after she retired.  She works in acrylics.

5. Brenda Bogart works in oils.  She has done plein air painting over twenty years.
She used to do folk art.

6.  Nancy Schoburn taught art in Chicago and Michigan and taught art history in college.  She had photos with prints on it.  She has done block prints on the same print and each look different afterwards.

7.  Steve Black started painting in oils, then moved to acrylics and is now working in watercolor.

The meeting was closed and refreshments served.
                                        Repectively submitted, Joanne White
